American: Copland and American Contemporary Composers - March 11, 7:30 PM: Gyder Hall
The Mill Ave Chamber Players closes its second season by performing one of the most well-known pieces of American music, Appalachian Spring. Awarded the Pulitzer Prize for this composition in 1945, Aaron Copland’s inspiration was one family’s celebration of completing of a 19th century Pennsylvania farmhouse. This iconic work will be paired with American composers whom have also used music to depict scenes of American life.
