Dr. Stephanie Hoeckley is an award-winning flutist and teacher in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. She is currently the Adjunct Flute Instructor at Phoenix College and is a member of the Mill Ave Chamber Players for the 2020-2021 season. Recognized as a skilled performer, Stephanie has placed 1st in the Arizona Flute Society's Young Artist Competition and has been a finalist in the Florida Flute Association’s College Young Artist Competition and Advanced Masterclass.
As a passionate educator, Stephanie has been a flute clinician across the state of Arizona. She founded the Colorful Clef Flute Studio, an innovative flute studio with students ages 8-70+, and she is the director of the Phoenix College Community Flute Choir.
Stephanie recently earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Arizona State University where she studied with Elizabeth Buck. She holds a Master of Music in Music Performance from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Central Florida. Her previous flute instructors and mentors include Carol Wincenc and Nora Lee Garcia.
Her interests include music gamification, Alexander Technique and physiology, acoustics, performance psychology, and reducing the stigma and myths around autism. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys movies, making art out of polymer clay, learning and reading, and playing with her two rescue dogs.
