Clarinetist Erin Finkelstein relocated to Phoenix in 2012, where in addition to performing with the Mill Ave Chamber Players, she enjoys an active musical life as an extra musician with the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera and as a chamber artist with her violin clarinet piano trio, Vif.  Hailing from the west coast, Erin performs annually at the Carmel Bach Festival, and enjoyed a full-time freelance career in California and Nevada.

As a passionate educator, Erin is adjunct lecture of music and clarinet at Phoenix College. She has been on faculty at Glendale Community College, the University of the Pacific, Stanislaus, and the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. She has given master classes across the country, and her students have gone on to study clarinet in major universities and music schools. In California, she founded the FABOS Ensemble who was selected to be on the “Any Given Child” roster, a program piloted in Sacramento through the John. F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Erin holds the Masters of Music degree in clarinet performance from Arizona State University with Dr. Bob Spring, and the Bachelors of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of the Pacific with Dr. Patricia Shands. She did additional professional studies at Mannes with David Krakauer.

In addition to her musical life, Erin is a Feldenkrais Practitioner  ® and works with people from all walks of life to retrain movement and thought patterns through somatic study.
