MACP participated in the CALA (Celebracion Artistica de las Americas) Festival in October 2013. This concert features music composed by Latin American composers including Astor Piazzolla, Paquito D'Rivera, Manuel Ponce, Mario Lavista, and Heitor Villa-Lobos with a concert of works for woodwind quintet and percussion.

Mill Ave Chamber Players celebrated their fourth season of chamber music concerts at United Church of Sun City this year! This season we held four concerts featuring trios from MACP and a Veteran's Day Concert with the Phoenix Chamber Brass.

Edith, a Rosie the Riveter, who served for three years working in a factory during WWII. Honored to play for her and all the other Veterans' we met this morning in Sun City.

In May, Mill Ave Chamber Players was awarded the Glendale Performing Arts Partnership Grant, where we partnered with the Glendale Public Library to fund the "Live at the Library" Series. The “Live at the Library” is a multi-disciplinary performing arts series that has been offered free to the public for the past 25 seasons at Glendale’s Main Public Library.  Until the 2009-2010 performance season, the “Live at the Library” series offered these quality programs every Thursday evening from November through May.  Due to significant staff and budget cuts, the library was forced to dramatically reduce the number of programs offered. These free public concerts afford retirees, young families, the disabled, and group-home residents easy access to a wide variety of exceptional performances.  This grant has enabled MACP to provide six concerts throughout the 2013-2014 season,

MACP partnered with the West Valley Symphony to write a grant to provide live performances for students in the Peoria Unified School District. We performed for over 900 students in five concerts focused on rhythm, timbre, harmony, and form in an interactive manner to promote critical thinking and music listening skills. January 2014.

This season MACP has begun raising funds for causes important to each of our members. Our first fundraiser was for American Parkinson Disease Association in support of Erin, who's mother suffers from Parkinson Disease.

We had the amazing opportunity to work with the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet, faculty ensemble at the University of the Pacific, John Steinmetz, and the students at the University of the Pacific over a five-day residency in March. In addition to giving master classes for our instruments, we had the opportunity to share a concert with the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet and perform the premiere of "Three Pieces" with John Steinmetz performing in the ensemble.

Our second fundraiser was for Best Buddies of Arizona in support of Rose's stepdaughter who participates in many Best Buddies activities at her high school. Best Buddies High Schools fosters one-to-one friendships between students with and without IDD.

This June we held out first chamber music camp at Paradise Valley Community College (Phoenix, AZ). We had a great week of master classes, small and large chamber ensembles, Feldenkrais Lessons, and a final concert at Central United Methodist Church. We're already planning for 2015 and a possible winter chamber music weekend!
